Hi Folks,
I have a Tesoro unit that I got used some time ago, and it works just fine. I discovered that the 9 volt battery terminal has some wear on one of the prongs; likely due to some corrosion that was cleaned up I am guessing, the rest of the compartment and internals are clean.
While it works fine, I contacted Tesoro by email a few months back to see if the terminal could be replaced, but I was too late, I didn't get a reply and then they closed.
Does anyone know of any outfit who may be willing and able and qualified to check it out? Im not even sure if something like this could be serviced due to parts etc. No problems with the unit as far as i can tell, but wondering if its bad to keep
using it with one of the prongs being somewhat dull (not shiny).
Thanks!
Carlos

Hi there,
Well, I actually have a couple of the same model, my other unit is actually brand new never used, so I was thinking of selling this one; however, I was hoping to sell it in top shape to avoid an an unhappy customer. Buyers on the mainstream big E auction site can be fickle if they are inexperienced, and i don't wanna hassle with it.
Its the Silver Sabre Umax, with the red pinpoint button..below is the photo of the terminal.. Thanks for checkin' in!

New clips for 9 volt batteries are pretty cheap. You can find them here:
https://www.amazon.com/Battery-Connector-I-Type-Plastic-Housing/dp/B07TRKYZCH/ref=sr_1_3?crid=LLMPINNX5N2F&keywords=9+volt+battery+clip+connector&qid=1575502464&sprefix=9+volt+battery+cli%2Caps%2C173&sr=8-3
However it will require some soldering skills to install them.

Not uncommon to find the plating worn off. Take some 400 grit wet/dry sandpaper and sand down to the clean copper where the plating is worn off. It will be good to go.
